HM Queen’s representative in Oxford praises Elmore for coronavirus response

Oxfordshire’s mental health workers have been praised as heroes by HM Queen’s representative in Oxfordshire, Lord-Lieutenant Tim Stevenson in a letter.

In a letter to Elmore Community Services, the Lord-Lieutenant expressed her thanks to the mental health and complex needs workers of the charity.

Tim Stevenson, Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, said: “As Her Majesty the Queen’s Lord Lieutenant for Oxfordshire, I am writing to your team to thank you for all the commitment, energy, and creativity that you are bringing to the very challenging task of sustaining the support and service you provide to individuals with mental health and other complex needs.”

Tom Hayes, Chief Executive of Elmore Community Services, said: “There is no sign of any slowing down in the efforts of the charitable sector to support those in need. We’re thrilled at Elmore to receive this royal seal of approval for all our work to ensure people have the support they need when they need it. The lockdown is tough for everyone, but it’s particularly hard on people with mental ill health—our staff are working flat-out every day to support clients, and it’s really fantastic to get a boost and support from the Lord Lieutenant. It does mean a lot.”
